LightHouse Automotive Helps Local Customer with Engine Replacement

May 30, 2018

Mechanic Working on car NAPA Autocare Shop | LightHouse Automotive

Chad was in a bad situation, as he was experiencing serious engine problems in his car. He knew it needed significant repairs or might even have to be replaced. After not getting the answers he was looking for at his normal shop, Chad decided to take his vehicle to Colorado Springs' own  LightHouse Automotive. He was very glad he made this decision and he recently shared his story online.

"I had major problems with my engine and took it to my usual shop," Chad writes. "I felt like my shop was not being very honest, so I had them put the engine back together and I towed it to LightHouse. I had had a conversation with the owner of LightHouse [Rylan Blair] years ago and decided to try them out now."

Once Chad brought his vehicle into LightHouse Automotive , our expert auto repair technicians performed a thorough inspection of the engine. We also ran diagnostic tests to help uncover all the specific problems. Unfortunately, the engine was beyond repair and it made more sense in this case to replace it. Our service team then went on the hunt to find a suitable replacement engine. To save Chad money, we sought out a used engine with low mileage that would be compatible with his vehicle.

"LightHouse's estimate was fair and lower than the first shop," Chad adds. "The job ended up taking longer than expected, but LightHouse was being very cautious about the low mileage engine they were going to swap in. They rejected two engines shipped to them because those engines did not meet their standard. The one they finally put in was relatively new. They replaced things that needed to be replaced before putting the engine in and did the whole job for exactly what they estimated. The car drove great!"

Replacing an engine is never an easy task. There are so many details to cover and complications almost always arise, but the professionals at LightHouse Automotive are always up to the task. Our team will make sure the job is done right and we stand behind the work with the NAPA AutoCare Peace of Mind Warranty (3 years/36,000 miles). It turns out this warranty would be important in Chad's case.

"Shortly after, my car began having problems starting," Chad says. "They spent 2 hours looking for the problem, found it, owned it, fixed it and test it 15 times! With no charge to me. I can't say enough about these guys. When you find a shop this honest and thorough, you keep them. They get my highest recommendation."

Thank you, Chad, for sharing your feedback and we're glad to know that you are safely back on the road with your new engine running well. If you ever experience any other complications, just give us a call or stop by the shop.

For anyone out there in the Colorado Springs area in need of engine repairs or any other type of automotive repair or maintenance, call LightHouse Automotive at (719) 465-0302 or schedule your appointment online.
