LightHouse Automotive Helps MINI Owner Whose Car Wouldn't Start

March 25, 2020

Donald drives a MINI Cooper , but recently he was having trouble starting his car. The engine was cranking, but wouldn't fire up. Donald does most of his own auto repairs and maintenance at home. However, this time he wasn't able to determine the problem and he decided to turn to LightHouse Automotive for professional help with his vehicle.

"Brought in my MINI Cooper," Donald writes in his online review. "It would crank, but wouldn't turn over. Had tried fixing it myself, but couldn't track down the issue."

There are any number of reasons why a vehicle may be struggling to start. There could be an issue with the ignition/starter system, the battery, spark plugs, fuel system, electrical system or the alternator. Since the engine was cranking, it likely wasn't the ignition or the battery. Still, it's always a good idea to look over everything carefully and determine the specific problem at hand.

The inspection process is crucial at LightHouse Automotive. Our technicians are very knowledgeable and bring a great deal of experience when it comes to all different types of automotive repairs. They can run diagnostic tests and perform physical inspections of each component that might be a concern. In Donald's case, it turned out to be something relatively minor. Our team was able to fix it the same day and get him back on the road.

We also respect the fact that he does a lot of his own mechanical work, so our owner, Rylan, took some extra time with him to provide a few tips that might help him in the future. Donald had other little things he wanted to work on this summer, so we were able to give him some guidance and advice before made the repairs himself.

"They found and fixed the issue no problem," Donald adds, "and they even gave me pointers on subjects I planned on fixing/cleaning when the weather finally lets up."

Thank you, Donald, for letting us help you with your car trouble and for sharing your review. We appreciate hearing any feedback from all of our customers who visit the shop for repair and maintenance services.
