LightHouse Automotive Helps Customer with Leaking Transmission

January 24, 2018

Transmission Repair | LightHouse Automotive

Alex recently took his car into a quick-lube oil change shop, and one of the technicians there noticed that some transmission fluid was leaking. A leaking transmission is never a good sign, but Alex wanted a second opinion before any work was done. He is a student on a limited budget, so he knew it was worth having the vehicle looked at by a local  transmission repair expert. After doing his research on dependable Colorado Springs auto repair shops, Alex decided to call LightHouse Automotive .

Alex shared his feedback about his LightHouse Automotive service experience on Google:

"The oil change guy claimed my transmission was leaking and these guys [LightHouse Automotive] gave me an honest quote," Alex says. "They even brought me into the shop to give me an up close and personal look at my car. Fantastic service!"

An initial inspection by the LightHouse Automotive team of auto repair technicians revealed the transmission fluid leak that the other mechanic had pointed out. After further internal inspection, we were able to determine the cause of the leak, and thankfully it was a relatively simple fix. A leaking transmission is often the sign of bigger transmission problems and it's something that you'll want to get looked at by a professional as soon as possible. If detected early, it may be a simple fix such as replacing the pan gasket, transmission filter or rear main engine seal. If left untouched and your transmission fluid level gets dangerously low, it could lead to serious transmission or engine problems that could ultimately cost you thousands in repairs.

Alex was relieved to know that his transmission problem wasn't too bad. Between the oil change shop and LightHouse Automotive , he was able to preemptively get it fixed before it led to something major. We replaced a couple of minor parts and got Alex back on the road.

"As a student, I appreciated the great price on the parts!" Alex adds. "Thanks guys!"

Thank you Alex for sharing your feedback. We are always happy to help. At LightHouse Automotive , our goal is to get any automotive problem diagnosed and repaired correctly. We never try to upsell you on parts or repairs you don't need. We promise to tell it exactly like it is, so you can make informed repair decisions.
