With this in mind, LightHouse Automotive has put together these visibility maintenance tips. 1. Get a Defroster Check-Up In addition to keeping you warm in the vehicle, your heater/air conditioner runs your front defroster fans. Most rear defrosters are actually more o ... read more

You know the feeling when you are driving. It seems like you feel every single little bump on the road. Your car vibrates on the highways or pulls a little as you make turns. Every time you come to a quick stop, your front end buckles. These are all common signs of suspension problems, and they shouldn't be ignored. A Matter of Safety When your suspension is weak, it may just seem like an inconvenience to have your ride feel more uncomfortable. However, a failing suspension can lead to bad things. For starters, it's not safe. If your car is bucking around like a wild bronco or not cornering well, it can be really dangerous to drive. This is especially true here in Colorado with a lot of driving on mountains, hills, rough roads and wet/icy surfaces in the fall and winter months. A Sign of Bigger Problems to Come In addition, an ... read more

If you own a vehicle that was produced after 1980, it will definitely include oxygen (O2) sensors in the exhaust. Some vehicles from earlier than that will also have them. These sensors perform a vital function and are connected directly to the car’s computer system. They monitor the relative amount of oxygen running through the engine. If the oxygen levels are too low or too high, the sensor will be tripped and your check engine light will come on. What Do Oxygen Sensors Do? Oxygen sensors are one of the most common reasons why the check engine light comes on. Yes, they can wear out and/or simply fail over time. In other words, the warning light may just be a result of an oxygen sensor that needs to be replaced. Or, the sensor may be doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing. In this case, the check engine light is o ... read more
