Richard was getting frustrated after dealing with a Jeep dealership in Denver. They were recommending a major repair, but he wasn't sure it was necessary. He knew it was at least worth seeking a second opinion from a reputable automotive shop, so he called Rylan Blair at LightHouse Automotive. "Rylan and his crew inspected my Jeep," Richard says in his online review. "The Jeep dealer in Denver recommended I basically replace my front end. I doubted this analysis because I had no play shaking, etc." Rylan and our LightHouse Automotive team in Colorado Springs were happy to take a better look at Richard's Jeep in order to determine the problem. Rylan personally has a lot of experience with Jeep vehicles, so he and our automotive technicians performed a thor ... read more

It's that time of year in Colorado Springs. Snow is no longer an issue, but we will get some rain. That means more humidity in the air and wet roads, both of which can put extra wear and tear on your car. LightHouse Automotive has compiled these rainy season car care tips that will help you maintain your vehicle's performance while also staying safer on the road. 1. Keep Your Windshield Clean Mud, dirt and bugs can build up quickly when it's raining out, not to mention the rain itself providing less visibility. Make sure you keep your windshield clean and that your windshield wipers are working well. New wipers can make a major difference. Also, check your windshield washer fluid and top it off if needed. 2. Wash Your Car and Apply a Fresh Coat of Wax This is especially important on older cars with older paint jobs. It may seem like a pointless endeav ... read more

Jim was frustrated. He had taken his 1982 Dodge to another automotive shop in Colorado Springs for repairs. The other mechanic rebuilt the carburetor and installed new spark plugs. However, that only made things worse. The car would backfire and black smoke came from the carburetor. Jim knew that he needed to take his Dodge elsewhere, but he didn't know an auto shop in town he could trust. Jim asked around and one of his good friends recommended LightHouse Automotive. This friend has been a loyal customer of ours for over 10 years, so he felt very comfortable referring Jim to our auto shop. "I needed another carburetor for my Dodge," Jim says in his online review. "Impossible to find one these days, except Rylan [Blair, co-owner of LightHouse Automotive] found one, rebuilt it, and now my car runs like a new ... read more
